What is this event?

An excuse to play dodgeball—and a great opportunity to meet new people in Amsterdam. Nothing more, nothing less.

Who can play?

If you have 4 or more other friends you, you can make a team. And if you have a team, you can apply to be in the tournament! If you don't have a team, you can still apply and we will randomly select 14 people to be part of two Wildcard Teams.

How are teams selected?

We will randomly select 16 teams to participate in the tournament 2 weeks before the tournament. If the team does not confirm, we will randomly select another team to replace them. Two of the teams will be Wildcard Teams, which will be made up of people who have registered solo.

How does the tournament work?

Single elimination bracket—lose once and you're out. Games are 10 minutes, 5v5 on court. Standard dodgeball rules apply: get hit, you're out; catch a ball, opponent is out and you bring a teammate back. Check the full rules PDF for the nitty-gritty.

Where exactly is this happening?

USC Sportcentrum, Science Park 306, 1098 XH Amsterdam. We'll send detailed directions and parking info to registered teams closer to the event.

Who are the organizers of this event?

The event is organized by the Department of Stories / GenericJapaneseCompany B.V. Venue and logistics details are sent to registered teams before the event.

Sign up as a team or as an individual!

Registration closes. All waivers must be signed before a team can be considered for the lottery.

14 teams will be randomly selected. 14 individuals will be selected for the Stranger's Team. Teams and players have until Feb 27 to confirm attendance.

Teams who have not confirmed their attendance will lose their spot. Another random team will be selected in their place.
